Dímero D y pronóstico de letalidad en pacientes diabéticos con COVID-19
Resumen
La crisis sanitaria generada por la enfermedad por coronavirus 2019 o COVID-19 debido a su rápida expansión y al poco conocimiento de este nuevo padecimiento, ocasionó la muerte de gran cantidad de personas en el mundo, razón por la que, los profesionales de salud se vieron en la tarea de identificar posibles factores de riesgo que permitan dar un pronóstico de la gravedad. El objetivo de este estudio fue analizar las concentraciones de dímero D y el pronóstico de letalidad en pacientes diabéticos con COVID-19. El estudio consistió en una investigación de diseño documental con carácter descriptivo y exploratorio el cual permitió seleccionar bajo criterios de inclusión artículos publicados en los últimos años (2019-2022) relacionados al tema. Se evidencia una asociación en la alteración (hasta diez veces más su valor referencial) de las concentraciones séricas de dímero D y la mortalidad reportada, la cual se ubicó en 55,67% de los pacientes con diabetes mellitus y COVID-19. Los casos graves representaron el 19,7% en estos pacientes. El dímero D, además del TP y plaquetas tienen un valor pronóstico en los pacientes diabéticos con COVID-19, por lo que se valida su uso como biomarcador de severidad y letalidad en este grupo.
