Helicobacter Pylori y Rotavirus en Infantes
Resumen
Introducción: Helicobacter pylori es el patógeno más común del tracto gastrointestinal en seres humanos, es además la principal causa de gastritis crónica. Es una bacteria que se adquiere en la infancia y permanece en el organismo durante toda la vida si no se trata con antibióticos para erradicarla. El rotavirus es el agente causal más común de enfermedad diarreica grave en niños, casi todos los niños del mundo menores de 5 años corren el riesgo de contraer una infección por rotavirus. Metodología: El presente trabajo de investigación de tipo documental y revisión sistemática tuvo como objetivo analizar las infecciones por Helicobácter pylori y rotavirus en infantes. Resultados y discusión: Helicobácter pylori y rotavirus son infecciones con altas tasas de incidencia en países en desarrollo, y mayor prevalencia en infantes, el Helicobácter pylori induce gastritis, úlcera péptica, linfoma de tejido linfoide asociado a mucosas y cáncer gástrico. Por su parte, la infección por rotavirus es también la principal causa de diarrea y gastroenteritis aguda en infantes, y el pico estacional de rotavirus fue en el invierno, a diferencia del Helicobácter pylori que no mostró estacionalidad. Conclusión: Helicobácter pylori es la causa más importante de diversas patologías y posterior cáncer; estas complicaciones se observan con mayor frecuencia en niños y adolescentes en comparación con los adultos. El rotavirus es un agente infeccioso responsable del gastroenteritis infantil en el mundo, tanto en países desarrollados como en vías de desarrollo. Tanto el Helicobácter pylori como el rotavirus son la causa más frecuente de morbilidad y mortalidad en infantes.
